Internationalizing the Freedom Movement

This documentary examines Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s pivotal role in India’s independence struggle. Unlike other nationalist leaders, Netaji internationalized the freedom movement by establishing the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army) and securing military backing during World War II, transforming the independence struggle from domestic protest into global confrontation with British imperial authority.

The Red Fort Trials

The Red Fort Trials of INA soldiers sparked widespread rebellion across India, triggering naval and armed forces mutiny that destabilized British control. This internal collapse of loyalty compelled Britain to accelerate independence from 1948 to 1947—not solely through Gandhian negotiation, but because maintaining colonial presence became militarily and logistically untenable.

A Legacy Marginalized

Despite his instrumental contributions, Netaji’s legacy was marginalized in post-independence India, his role downplayed within official historical narratives.

Historical Recalibration

The documentary serves as historical recalibration, positioning Netaji’s vision, sacrifice, and strategic brilliance within proper historical context. Using archival materials, graphics, and original narration, the film restores his memory and reframes the independence narrative around one of its most crucial architects.
